Get ready to pay more for Medicare. For 2011 deductibles and copayments are rising, along with Part B premiums for new enrollees.
The 2011 Medicare Part A coinsurance amount for the first 60 days of a hospital stay is $1,132. For days 61 to 90 you will pay $283. For days 91 to 150 you will pay $566. After 150 days you are responsible for all expenses.
The skilled nursing coinsurance rate is $141.50 per day for days 21 to 100.
The Part B deductible rises to $162.
If you are already enrolled in Medicare your Part B premium does not change.
New enrollees will pay a Part B premium according to a sliding scale based on income. A single person earning less than $85,000 (or a couple earning less than $170,000) will pay a monthly Part B premium of $115.40 per month.
